An umbrella order includes more than its canopy and frame. Fastening straps, wrist loops, labels, rib tips and top caps affect how the product is used, packed and branded. Listing these small parts explicitly helps prevent an attractive sample from becoming an incomplete production specification.
Distinguish the two kinds of strap
The fastening strap wraps around the closed canopy and holds the bundle together. A wrist loop attaches near the handle and serves a different purpose. A brief saying only “add a strap” leaves the supplier to guess which one is intended.
For the canopy strap, specify the material, width, length, attachment position and closure type. For a wrist loop, describe its size, material and attachment. Review both on the actual umbrella so they fit the intended handle and folded bundle.
Identify labels by construction and position
The training document lists woven labels, fabric labels, hangtags and stickers among the accessory and packing items. They are not interchangeable. A sewn label remains attached to the product; a hangtag is a separate presentation item. Each needs a location and an artwork file.
Provide the exact approved wording, dimensions, colors and orientation. Identify the sewing allowance for a fabric label and the attachment point for a tag. If a barcode or other variable identifier is needed, supply the correct data and check a physical sample. Required market wording should come from the buyer’s confirmed requirements.

Match tips and caps to the actual frame
A rib tip connects with the rib end and canopy attachment. A top cap sits at the crown of the umbrella. Selecting these parts by color alone leaves the connection dimensions unresolved. Request the matched part reference or drawing when changing a component.
The training manual repeatedly notes the relationship between upper-hub shapes and top fittings. Treat this as a compatibility check. Also examine the shape, edges and secure attachment on the completed sample. A similar-looking accessory is not automatically a suitable replacement.
Review branding with the umbrella open and closed
A canopy logo may be prominent when the umbrella is open but hidden when packed. A strap, sleeve or hangtag can carry branding in the closed presentation. Decide which surfaces matter for the project before distributing artwork across them.
Check that closures work without awkwardly folding the logo and that labels sit where intended. Review contrast and legibility at the actual printed or woven size. A large digital proof can hide a detail that becomes unreadable on a narrow strap.
Keep an accessory list with the approved sample
Create one list naming each accessory, its material or model, color, artwork revision and quantity per umbrella. Mark optional items clearly so they do not disappear into assumptions about what is included in the price.
For repeat orders, record substitutions and confirm their fit. Use the same list during packing inspection to check labels, closures and presentation pieces. This is especially useful when several colorways share a frame but have different trim or tag details.
