A factory audit assesses a named production site, a textile certificate covers its stated material and scope, and a laboratory report records results for a specified sample. When sourcing umbrellas, check the holder, dates, scope and connection to your order separately. One document does not establish current approval or performance for every finished umbrella.
Start with the question the document answers
An umbrella sourcing file may contain a factory social audit, a textile certificate and a laboratory test report. Each addresses a different subject. The most useful first step is to identify the named organization, site or material and the purpose of the document.
Ark Umbrella’s supporting archive includes records for an umbrella production facility as well as documents issued to textile suppliers. Those identities should remain visible when reviewing an order. A supplier’s material certificate does not become a blanket certificate for every finished umbrella simply because it appears in the same sourcing folder.
Factory audit records identify a site and an assessment date
The BSCI monitoring record in the archive names Quanzhou Yisen Umbrella Co., Ltd. and its Dongshi, Jinjiang address. It records monitoring beginning on 30 April 2025 and an expiration date of 12 May 2026. The Disney ILS and SWA files record assessments in 2022. These are dated records, not a statement that an assessment has been renewed.
Ask for the latest applicable assessment and follow-up status for the production site planned for your order. The presence of a Disney ILS audit report is not itself permission to produce branded Disney merchandise. Brand-production authorization is a separate question that must be settled for a licensed project.
GRS scope and shipment evidence serve different roles
The GRS document in the archive is a scope certificate issued to Fuzhou Runtai Textile Co., Ltd. for dyed fabrics. Its stated validity ended on 22 September 2022. It is therefore a historical supplier record, not current certification evidence for an order.
Textile Exchange distinguishes a scope certificate, which identifies an organization’s certified scope, from a transaction certificate used to support specified goods. Review the current certificate and the order’s traceability requirements before making a certified-product claim. See Textile Exchange’s certificate authentication guidance and its chain-of-custody explanation.
OEKO-TEX documentation must match the textile scope
The supplied STANDARD 100 certificate SH015 267447 names Sichuan Sunfeng Digital and Intelligent Textile Co. Ltd. It describes specified woven polyamide, polyamide/spandex and polyester fabrics and finishes, with a stated end date of 31 October 2026. Its holder and textile scope should not be replaced with Ark Umbrella’s name or extended to unlisted components.
Check the certificate number through the issuer’s OEKO-TEX Label Check when reviewing an order. The STANDARD 100 overview explains the textile harmful-substance testing program. The date printed on a copy is a reference to verify, not independent confirmation of its present status.
Material tests answer a sample-specific question
Carbon-fiber material records and fabric chemical reports provide another kind of evidence. They describe the samples, properties or substances evaluated. A carbon tube record is not automatically a finished umbrella wind test; a fabric PFAS report is not a social audit.
Read the laboratory-report guide for an example of sample identification and detection limits. When requesting a quotation, specify which claims or customer requirements your evidence needs to support.
Build a practical document checklist
Request the proposed production-site identity, relevant current audit record, material supplier identity, applicable certificate scope, expiry or review date, and any product-specific test report. For certified-material orders, ask how the delivered material will be traced to the supporting documents.
Review gaps before approving production, especially if a fabric, coating, supplier or construction changes. Our factory documentation overview summarizes the records in the archive. Contact the team to discuss which documents can support your selected umbrella and market.
